Purpose

This is a comprehensive training course on cloud computing, designed to make your organisation more cloud conversant. It will give your employees a greater grasp on the capabilities and benefits of cloud, understanding all the implications of why an organisation might consume or build services in the cloud, help different roles within the organisation appreciate the complexities and responsibilities to increase collaboration.

Let us guide you through a journey of taking a fictitious service, understanding how this would be deployed in a very traditional sense, and contrasting it with today’s leading-edge modern deployment techniques.

What you’ll learn

You’ll learn about networking, understand the different forms of compute, including virtualisation, containerisation and serverless. You’ll understand why compute is key to hyper-scalars, the difference between IaaS, PaaS, SaaS and many other technical acronyms. We’ll explore the many benefits of cloud, both in a technical and business sense, the impact on how an organisation needs to run, business continuity and the elasticity of costs. We’ll look at the complexities around security, the constant threat to any organisation, and how those can be mitigated by your employees. Along the way, we’ll make reference to industry websites, the regulatory landscape (eg, DORA), additional resources so that participants can embellish their learnings.

By the end of this course, you’ll have a well-rounded grasp of both the technological underpinnings and the business implications of cloud computing, preparing you to lead in the age of the cloud.

Audience

If, you’re;

  • an organisation who’s offering one or more services to your clients, and those services(s) either directly or indirectly are in some way leveraging (or about to) cloud technology

  • an organisation selling products and services into clients who are possibly cloud based and wishing to be more competent and conversant when discussing the impact of your products and services in a cloud environment

  • an organisation contemplating one or more external services that are cloud based and need to understand more about how this will impact your organisation

this is an excellent way of empowering your employees in the world of cloud.

Your Guide

Your guide through this journey is Dave Stone, a technology leader with over 40 years in financial services and technology. His experience has taken him from operating in a disciplined military environment, to developing production grade software, to product management, sales and training, to running a successful SaaS business for a major vendor.

His altruistic nature and story-telling ability allows everyone to come away with a greater understanding and appreciation of many complex subjects.

Timing

The one-day, in-person session (split into a morning and afternoon session) is available to any number of attendees, but encourages the audience to interact with your guide to gain the most from the sessions. Whilst participants may choose either the morning Technology session or afternoon Business session, our advice is to encourage attendance of both so that all participants have an appreciation of the full life-cycle of responsibilities and duties.

Pricing

The one day session is priced at £7,500, secures your guide for an in-person session and includes a prior half-day consultative session to understand how to weave in your organisation’s own cloud strategy, challenges and approach, into the subject material.
